Use of force to protect lives followed by the immediate need to provide medical assistance can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other mental stress to officers, victims, and bystanders. This session uses a use-of-force simulator to demonstrate split-second decisions law enforcement professionals face. Attendees will also gain insights into law enforcement personnel’s duty to render aid and the life-saving techniques employed. By gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by law enforcement during critical incidents, we can work together to provide crucial resources that aim to reduce or eliminate instances of mental health issues like PTSD.
