AUSTIN – The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Moreno as its new Associate Executive Director, effective July 29. Moreno, previously TAC's Judicial Education Program Manager, brings extensive experience in public service and law to her new role.

Moreno served as Bee County Judge from 2015 to 2020. Her distinguished career includes working as an assistant attorney general in the Office of General Counsel in the Child Support Division under then-Attorney General Greg Abbott, leadership positions with the Texas Oil and Gas Association, and membership on several statewide committees and commissions.

"I am honored to step into this new role at TAC," Moreno said. "I look forward to contributing to the organization's mission of supporting Texas counties and to fostering strong relationships that benefit our communities."

Moreno will work closely with TAC Executive Director Susan M. Redford and the TAC executive team. "Stephanie's deep understanding of county operations and her commitment to public service make her the perfect fit for this leadership position," Redford said. "She brings valuable county experience that will benefit TAC and our county members."

Moreno also will lead TAC's County Relations Officer program and its team of four former county judges. The program connects county officials to TAC resources and best practices.

A licensed attorney in Texas, Moreno has a bachelor's degree from Texas State University and a law degree from Western New England University School of Law. She has served as president of the South Texas Judges and Commissioners Association, on the governing board of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and as a trustee for the Beeville Independent School District.
