Former Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron to Lead TAC's Judicial Education Program

AUSTIN – The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) has appointed former Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron as its new Judicial Education Program Manager. In this role, Hebron will oversee the development and implementation of initiatives designed to provide comprehensive training for county judges.

She succeeds former Bee County Judge Stephanie Moreno, who was recently named TAC's Associate Executive Director.

"I am honored to accept this role with the Texas Association of Counties," Hebron said. "Judicial education is critical for effective justice administration, and I am committed to fostering a robust and dynamic educational program that supports our county judges in their vital roles."

Hebron's responsibilities as Judicial Education Program Manager include curriculum development and providing and facilitating continuing education for county judges.

"Judge Hebron's extensive judicial experience and passion for education make her an ideal fit for this role," TAC Executive Director Susan M. Redford said. "Her leadership will greatly benefit our judicial education programs and, ultimately, the citizens of Texas."

Hebron graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and the University of Houston Law Center. She ran a successful law practice in Mineola before being elected Wood County Judge in 2018 and served on various community, charity and education boards. Her experience includes an appointment by the Texas Supreme Court to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
