Trucks stuck in traffic "There's been an increase in overweight truck traffic on one of our county roads. We've been told by the contractor that they have a state permit to operate on our roads. How does the county know for sure that these vehicles have the neccessary permits?"

How does the county know if a vehicle has been permitted by the state to operate an overweight vehicle under Transportation Code §623.011 or §623.402?

Transportation Code §623.013 says that the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will make available a searchable and downloadable list by county of each permit issued under Transportation Code §623.011. If the county would like a copy of the permit and bond or letter of credit for the permit, the county must request it from TxDMV.
