Under what circumstances may the county judge reject a mass gathering permit?
Under Health & Safety Code §751.007(b), the county judge may deny a mass gathering permit for a variety of reasons, including if:
- The application is inadequate or contains false information;
- The promoter’s financial backing is insufficient;
- Location is inadequate;
- Preparations to limit attendance is inadequate;
- The promoter cannot ensure minimum standards of sanitation and health;
- Adequate arrangements for traffic control have not been provided;
- And more, which can be found in our publication, Mass Gatherings and Outdoor Music Festivals.
