"My opponent this election just put up his campaign signs on courthouse property. I can see them from my office window! Can he do this?"

Can a political sign be placed on county courthouse property?

Under Election Code §61.003, a person may not electioneer for or against any candidate, measure, or political party during the voting period within 100 feet of an outside door through which a voter may enter the building where a polling place is located. Electioneering includes the posting, use, or distribution of political signs or literature. The owner or controller of a public building being used as a polling place may not, at any time during the voting period, prohibit electioneering on the building’s premises outside the area previously described.
