    Does the commissioners court have any authority over expenditures made by those who were not renominated or reelected to office?

    Local Government Code §130.908, also referred to as the “lame duck” statute, allows the commissioners court to set an amount over which expenditures must be approved for incumbent county and precinct officials who were not renominated or reelected to office.
