Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program
Established by HB 1505, 87th Legislature, 2021, the Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program provides reimbursement funds to expedite the deployment of broadband to individuals in rural areas. Eligible applicants for reimbursement are pole owners and retail broadband service providers that incurred costs for replacing poles in eligible areas to affix qualifying broadband facilities. In November 2023, Texas voters passed Proposition 8, which created the Broadband Infrastructure Fund and dedicated $75 million in state revenue to the Pole Replacement Fund.
