"We have a surplus in the justice court technology fund. I think my team would really benefit from extra training on our new software. Can I use money from this fund to pay for the training classes?"

How may justice court technology funds be spent?

According to Code of Criminal Procedure Article 102.0173, the justice court assistance and technology fund can be used to finance the cost of providing court personnel, to pay for the cost of continuing education for justice court judges and court personnel, and to purchase and maintain technological enhancements for a justice court. For more information on this fund and many others, see our publication Special & Dedicated Funds.
