"Our county is shifting some responsibilities around, and now I’ll be overseeing probate cases in my court. Are there additional requirements for my bond?"

Are there additional bond requirements for judges with probate jurisdiction?

A judge in a statutory county court who presides over probate proceedings as defined by Section 22.029 of the Estate Code, must execute a bond of not less than $50,000. The bond also must be conditioned that the judge will perform the duties of office and the duties required by the Estates Code.
