"Our county is shifting some responsibilities around, and now I’ll be overseeing probate cases in my court. Are there additional requirements for my bond?" |

Are there additional bond requirements for judges with probate jurisdiction?
A judge in a statutory county court who presides over probate proceedings as defined by Section 22.029 of the Estate Code, must execute a bond of not less than $50,000. The bond also must be conditioned that the judge will perform the duties of office and the duties required by the Estates Code.
