Children reading books "A children's advocacy group reached out to the commissioners court for support to establish a center in our county. It sounds like a good idea we'd like to support. Can we use funds from capital credits?"

Can the commissioners court use capital credits to support a children's advocacy center?

The commissioners court may use capital credits to develop and administer a variety of community and economic development programs. A few options include programs to support a children's advocacy center, to support comprehensive literacy programs, for the promotion and application of the arts, to improve business opportunities for women and minority businesses, and more. To learn other ways capital credits can be used, see Local Government Code §381.004.
