    Commissioners Court

"My daughter has worked as an executive assistant in another commissioner's office for two years. I was elected and assumed office as a commissioner this year. Can I vote when her pay raise is considered at the next meeting?"

May a commissioners court set rules for the submission of items to be placed on the agenda?

Yes, so long as the effect of the adopted rules does not preclude a commissioner from placing an item on an agenda. The court as a whole may create rules to address the form in which proposed agenda items are to be submitted for inclusion, to whom the items must be submitted and a deadline for submission.
