The following updates come from the Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO). For additional information on the items below, please visit the BDO website and subscribe to email alerts for forthcoming announcements.

Local Government and Community Roundtable: The next roundtable for local government officials and communities will be held on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.

Bringing Online Opportunities to Texas (BOOT) Program: The BDO has sent grant agreements to awardees in 22 of the 24 selected counties totaling almost $700 million in state and federal funds. The remaining two counties did not receive applications that were adequate for an award, but locations in both areas remain eligible for other funding sources.

Texas Pole Replacement Program: Applications for Round II are under review. Awardees are expected to be notified by early March. Program details are available on the Pole Replacement Program webpage.

Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program: The map challenge process continues through April. The anticipated timeline for the publication of the notice of funding availability (NOFA) and receipt of applications is the summer 2025. The BDO aims to publish the Texas-eligible Broadband Serviceable Locations at least seven days before the challenge process begins.

Visit the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's BEAD frequently asked questions webpage for additional information. The latest additions can be found at the end of the document.

State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program: The BDO plans to release a NOFA in February to provide information about the competitive grant program and how applicants can apply.
