Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 29, and join the Texas Association of Counties at the Capitol for a special County Government Day celebration — complete with legendary Texas barbecue.

We’re serving up lunch from the renowned Louie Mueller Barbecue of Taylor in the Legislative Conference Room (Capitol Extension, Room E2.002) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. This is a great opportunity to connect informally with state legislators and their staff while showcasing the essential work counties do every day.

A County Government Day resolution will be presented in both chambers — sponsored by Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) in the Senate and Rep. Cecil Bell Jr. (R-Magnolia) in the House. While TAC has invited all lawmakers to the lunch, we encourage county officials to personally invite their representatives and senators to drop by.
