Celebrate County Government Day at the Capitol with the Texas Association of Counties on Tuesday, April 29. County officials are invited to enjoy a barbecue lunch and help spotlight the vital role of county government.

This event gives county officials an opportunity to meet informally with state legislators and their staff over a lunch featuring renowned Texas barbecue from Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Legislative Conference Room, Capitol Extension, Room E2.002.

Sen. Robert Nichols is sponsoring a County Government Day resolution in the Senate, while Rep. Cecil Bell Jr. is carrying the resolution in the House. TAC has invited all legislators to attend, but county officials are encouraged to extend personal invitations to their representatives and senators.
