Tax Assessor-Collectors Attend V.G. Young Conference
With nearly 400 attendees from across Texas, the V.G. Young Institute of County Government hosted the 41st Annual V.G. Young School for County Tax Assessor-Collectors at the Waco Convention Center, Nov. 13-16.
In addition to hearing updates from several state agencies on tax assessor-collector-related functions, attendees learned about title fraud, property tax case law and elections updates. Other sessions focused on identifying counterfeit money, how to adjust funds reports from vehicle transactions and best practices for employee retention and morale.
Additionally, Monica Foster of Jackson County was named the 2023 Tax Assessor-Collector of the Year.
