FY24 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program to Support Law Enforcement Agencies
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) supports the purchase and lease of body-worn cameras by state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies. The solicitation would support demonstration projects that advance digital evidence management, leveraging body-worn camera digital footage to promote evidence-based practices in law enforcement agencies with established body-worn camera programs. The grant application includes 5 solicitation categories:
- Category 1 – Site-based Awards to Law Enforcement Agencies (including self-initiated partnership applications);
- Category 2 – Site-based Awards to State Correctional Agencies;
- Category 3 – Digital Evidence Management and Integration Demonstration Projects;
- Category 4 – Optimizing Body-worn Camera (BWC) Footage in Prosecutors’ Offices Demonstration Projects; and
- Category 5 – Using BWC Footage for Training and Constitutional Policing Demonstration Projects

$29,000,000
Maximum Award:
Up to $2 million depending on the category; funding cap is $2,000 per body-worn camera
Match Requirement:
50% -- Categories 1-2; no match for Categories 3-5
Duration of Grant Award:
36 months
