Barbecue and Visits with Lawmakers Highlight County Government Day April 13

County officials are invited to participate in a TAC tradition to celebrate County Government Day on April 13 by attending an informal barbecue luncheon on the west lawn of the Capitol grounds.

Barbecue will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and all legislators and staff are invited to enjoy lunch with their county officials (county officials are encouraged to call their legislators to urge them to attend). There will be a reserved line and seating for all dignitaries. After lunch, county officials are to visit with legislators on issues important to counties.

TAC Tuesday Morning Legislative Breakfasts Are Ongoing

The Texas Association of Counties will continue to meet at 7:15 a.m. each Tuesday through May 24 for a brief discussion among county officials and TAC staff about the big issues affecting counties. We hope you will join us to voice the important issues facing your county and resolve any legislative questions you may have.

As the legislative session continues and committee hearings convene more frequently, the breakfasts will take on a grab-n-go format, so afterward you can walk to the Capitol to visit with legislators and staff or attend committee hearings.

Breakfasts are held in the TAC board room on the fourth floor of Texas Association of Counties building, conveniently located three blocks from the Capitol at 1210 San Antonio Street. Free parking is available in the TAC garage; the garage code is *2011.
