
Laura V. Garcia is the deputy legislative director at the Texas Association of Counties. Garcia joined the Legislative Department in 2006, previously serving as Legislative Counsel. Prior to joining the department, she worked as an assistant county attorney with the Travis County Attorney’s Office. Laura has also served as general counsel for the Office of State Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr.
Originally from San Benito, Texas, Garcia holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in political science and policy studies from Rice University. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas. Her areas of expertise include:
