Aurora Flores
joined the Legislative Department in May 2006. Flores brings years of experience with the Texas Legislature, both on the lobby side and as a legislative aide in the Texas House of Representatives and with the House Mexican-American Legislative Caucus. Her professional background also includes employment with the Texas General Land Office Marketing Division, and she brings communications and media relations skills from her work in television news.

Flores earned a bachelor of science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a masters in business administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. She is a native of Harlingen in the Rio Grande Valley. As a TAC legislative liaison, she monitors such issues as: 

  • border issues/immigration
  • South Texas County Judges and Commissioners
  • tax code/revenue/oil and gas undervaluation
  • Homeland Security/Emergency Management Preparedness
  • financial management/transparency
  • liaison to the County Treasurers Association
  • assists with video/audio communications for county officials
