TAC will host weekly Tuesday Morning Breakfasts at 7:15 a.m. during the legislative session. Join us for a hot meal followed by discussion about the big issues facing county officials in 2011, including transportation, probation, jails, transparency, unfunded mandates, appraisal caps and restrictive revenue caps.
On Jan. 25, a top aide to Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst will be our special guest and speaker. Julia Rathgeber, deputy chief of staff and director of policy, is heavily involved in many issues that affect counties. Having participated in a meeting between Dewhurst and TAC Executive Director Gene Terry last year, Rathgeber is aware of our most pressing issues like unfunded mandates and maintaining local control. Rathgeber has spoken at breakfasts during past sessions and is very knowledgeable regarding the lieutenant governor’s policies.
Breakfasts are held in the TAC board room on the fourth floor of Texas Association of Counties building, conveniently located three blocks from the Capitol at 1210 San Antonio Street. Free parking is available in the TAC garage.
