By Tim Brown
TAC Senior County Analyst
TAC is collecting information on county officials’ salaries for publication in the 2012 TAC Salary Survey.
Each county office that completes the survey will receive a copy of the report, as will the county judge’s office. The report will also be published on the TAC website in PDF format. Previous editions from 2007, 2008 and 2010 are currently available online.
Our goal is to get at least 240 responses returned to TAC by March 23. That should give us time to get the report together and into your hands in time for the upcoming budget cycle. The 2012 TAC Salary Survey will be mailed to counties before June 1.
Get an Online Copy
When we mailed survey forms to all 254 counties on Feb. 6, the cover letter noted that an electronic copy of the form, in various formats, is available on our website. There you can download and save either a MS Excel or a PDF version of the survey form. After saving and completing the form, please return it to Tim Brown at or via fax (512) 478-3573.
Save the Form in a Permanent Location
Be careful! When you save the form to your network, be sure to note where it is saved. We almost always have at least one person accidentally save the form to a Temp folder, type in the information and then close the document. As you know, items in Temp folders disappear when the program, in this case MS Excel, is closed. Be sure the form is saved in a permanent folder such as My Documents, your Desktop, etc.; you can always move or delete it later if necessary.
