Once persons successfully complete the Basics of County Investments (formerly CIO Level I) program, they will be admitted as Members of the Academy. Membership in the Academy can be maintained by earning 15 hours of continuing education per calendar year. You do not have to be a Member of the Academy in order to participate in the education conferences. All programs will be open to all county officials and staff.
The annual Conference of the County Investment Academy is held annually in June and provides 15 hours of county investment academy continuing education. Breakout sessions to be offered one afternoon to revisit the Basics of County Investments.
The Texas Public Funds Investment Conference is scheduled in November of each year, in the Houston area. The curriculum provides 10 hours of county investment academy continuing education.
Both the annual County Investment Academy and the Texas Public Funds Investment Conference curriculum comply with the training requirements of the Public Funds Investment Act.
