The Texas Public Funds Investment Conference helps you piece together the puzzle of your county’s investment options. Experts from the financial in­dustry and seasoned investment officers discuss the Public Funds Investment Act, the U.S. economy, depository banks and contracts, CDARS and fraud. This annual conference features basic and advanced tracks with topics to meet your investing needs. The format is informal and interactive to encourage networking. 

Education Co-sponsor:  McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University is the education co-sponsor of the 2013 Texas Public Funds Investment Conference. There are no pre-requisites required to attend this program.

Learning Outcomes

Participants successfully completing this conference can:

  • Discuss updates to the Public Funds Investment Act;
  • Understand factors influencing the U.S. economy;
  • Identify the pros and cons of leaving funds in a bank versus investing;
  • Know types of fraud that threaten county funds and transactions; and
  • Develop strategies for investing in a rising rate environment.

Both advanced and basic tracks will be available; attendees may attend either session.
