The mission of the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) is to be a key technology leader in the State of Texas. The Department is charged with the task of being a catalyst for improvement, by influencing technology decisions, and assuring the most appropriate uses of information resources. As a part of this mission, the Department is required to assist local governmental entities in achieving their objectives through the most cost-effective acquisition of their information resources. Local governments are authorized to participate in DIR contracts by Section 791 of the Texas Government Code. The Department of Information Resources is a QISV vendor on the General Services Commission Catalog.
